TECHNIQUES FOR YOUR KID’S SELF-DEFENSE
Did you know that a child goes missing or is abducted every 40 seconds in the United States? It’s a terrifying occurrence: a child, with virtually no self-defense, is grabbed and restrained by the stronger adult.
Terrifying as it is, this isn’t meant to scare you parental nak muay out there, but rather to let you know there’s a damn good reason to teach your kids how to fight — or, more accurately, how to defend and escape.
In the video below, Jason “Nak Muay Ninja” Lee from Nak Muay Nation and his student, Corey, demonstrate three key defensive maneuvers that kids can employ if they find themselves in a precarious position like the one above. They are:
- Wrist Grip Break – Also called “Secret Agent.”
- Lift Prevention Techniques – (a) make yourself heavy, (b) grapevine the leg, (c) smash heel to groin
- Hug Grip Breaking – Also called “Surprise.”
