MTG 079: The Warrior Spirit and The Power of Martial Arts with Chatri Sityodtong
Muay Thai Guy Podcast – Episode 79
Summary written by Lawrence Kenshin
Chatri Sityodtong can be described in a great many ways – a self-made millionaire, Harvard MBA, entrepreneur, investor, philanthropist – the list goes on, but in all his successes, he’s remained humble and credited martial arts as the greatest catalyst .
Today, Chatri is now one of the most influential people in martial arts – his uprise is a beautiful one that every martial artist should hear. Hailing from the prestigious Sityodtong camp of Thailand, he comes from arguably the most respected Muay Thai lineage of all time – the legendary coach named Yodtong Senanan.
During the Asian financial crisis, Chatri’s family lost everything, and he was forced to live on $4 a day while he went to Harvard. After graduating, he found tremendous success on Wall Street, but the money and prestige that came from that industry wasn’t truly fulfilling. It was then that he determined a tremendous goal – reshaping and bettering the world through the platform of martial arts.
Chatri’s powerhouse martial arts camp, Evolve MMA, is doing just that: empowering former and current world champions with a quality of life that have been non-existent until now, which in turn empowers the next generation of martial artists. Because Chatri credits martial arts as the greatest platform to unleashing the human potential, he is now doing everything that he can to share this catalyst and wisdom with the world.
If you have 30 minutes, listen to this podcast episode and find out why Chatri is one of the most powerful men in MMA. As martial artists, so many of us don’t take the safe route; there are so many sacrifices made as we take the road less traveled by. But it is our passion and what we love, and like training, despite all of our adversities and failures, in overcoming them we will unleash our potential.
