When I first started my journey into the the striking arts, a boxing coach at the local PAL told me, “Don’t bother with a left hook. You’ll never get it.” So me being me, I decided it would be the punch I would work hardest at perfecting. Little did I know it would become one of the sharpest weapons in my arsenal.
The lead hook + leg kick combo is one of the most utilized combinations in all of Muay Thai, kickboxing and MMA. It employs solid basics and well-refined movements in a devastating fashion, covering multiple distances with minimal adjustment. It allows the nak muay to initiate the attack at close range and still land successfully against a retreating opponent.
